The Problem Blog

“In a world full of people, only some want to fly; isn’t that crazy?” - Seal

I’ll put more programming stuff on here soonish… haha.  Life is a mixed bag!

Clifford Stoll - Awesome.

Wtf sort of problem does life classify as?
w: I was trying to write out my horrible proof for P != NP
f: Lol
w: I guess it's more of a proof that life is NP complete
w: than P != NP
w: though.h
w: hmm
w: I mean, P problems are P because they have a known "next step" for getting to the final solution
w: NP problems don't have any obvious next step - that's why you have to try everything
f: Mmmmm
w: Butttt life has a one dimensional, continuous time aspect
w: so it may not be the BEST solution, but you'll arrive at A solution
w: i guess that makes it NP actually
w: instead of exponential
w: maybe that's the comparison
w: Since there isn't a set order of events that you're going to accomplish
w: and you have to figure out how to order (permute) them
w: rather there are a lot of branches
w: ergo would be Exponential
w: but then time flows one direction
w: so on the wonderful non-deterministic machine of time and space, you end up solving it as an NP problem
f: ..
w: ??
f: *brain 'splode*
w: me too.
w: I think literature has one up on math on this one.

LameGame Productions’ website is going to be primarily open source, because it is served by the excellent python HTTP server CherryPy.  And I personally feel that after having used Django, CherryPy is far more pythonic and easy to understand while not sacrificing power.

The only things CherryPy really lacks is tools to cover common tasks such as authentication and user registration - which is why I have published lg_authority on github.  The module is currently at alpha status - since it’s usable enough that it can host LameGame Productions’ awesome color app and a more secretive project - and has documentation available at CherryPy’s tools wiki.

Hopefully other people find it useful :)

Fumanchu (creator? of CherryPy) wrote a blog here: http://www.aminus.org/blogs/index.php/2010/09/22/?blog=2 .  Since I was having problems with the built-in session framework, I put this together.

Leaf Carving Art
The process of carving is performed by artists using tools to carefully remove the surface without cutting or removing the veins. The veins add detail into the subject matter of the carving. The material or most common leaf used in leaf carving is the leaf of a Chinar tree. The Chinar tree is native to India, Pakistan and China. Chinar leaves have a close resemblance to maple leaves.
